Plarium has revealed three champion rebalances arriving with Update 11.90: Big 'Un, Brakus the Shifter and Rhazin Scarhide. All three are long-serving champions, and Rhazin's fusion requirements are also being made easier for newer players.

Rhazin Scarhide: a better boss-fighting progression champion

Rhazin stays a progression champion but gets much better against bosses. Bone Sword now has a 25% chance on each hit to remove 1 random buff and also decreases Turn Meter by 5% per hit. Shear (Ascended) brings a random ally in to join the attack using their default skill. If the target dies, it places 60% Decrease DEF and 25% Weaken on all enemies for 2 turns. These effects cannot be resisted if the target is a Boss, so newer players need less ACC to land them.

Bog Down drops from cooldown 7 to cooldown 5 and now adds a 30% Decrease SPD debuff for 2 turns. A new passive, Scale-Strength, means all allies take 15% less damage from Bosses.

His aura changes from 90 ally RES in Arena to 60 ally ACC in all battles. His SPD goes from 86 to 92, with base ATK reduced and base DEF increased.

Rhazin fusion changes

Some of the Rare champions needed as Epic fodder are being swapped for ones that are easier to get. The champions listed for the new requirements are Lich, Erinyes, Bloodfeather, Torturehelm, Spirithost, Graybeard, Conquerer, Skullsworn, Executioner, Beserker, Goremask, Diabolist, Rocktooth, Valerie, Muckstalker, Flinger, Warmaiden, Heiress, Hound Spawn and Avenger. If you put Rhazin off because you lacked a couple of the old Rares, check your vault against this list.

Brakus the Shifter: aiming for his Arena glory

Brakus gets a broad upgrade:

  • Innocent Blood heals 30% of damage dealt, up from 15%, and has a 25% chance to repeat the attack.
  • Full Moon Rampage still hits 6 times, but each hit now ignores 10% of the target's DEF, or 20% if the target is under Fear or True Fear. If the initial target is killed, all other enemies get an unresistable, unblockable True Fear for 2 turns.
  • Hunter's Howl becomes an AoE attack on cooldown 4, down from 5. It has a 75% chance of placing True Fear on all enemies for 1 turn, adds an extra hit on feared enemies, and ignores Unkillable on both hits.
  • Beast Mode makes him immune to Fear and True Fear, raises his damage by 50% at or below 50% HP, and resets Full Moon Rampage when he revives with 20% HP and an Extra Turn.

In practice, killing Brakus once leaves him straight back in action with a fresh A2 and the damage bonus active.

Big 'Un: wave clearing and crowd control

Big 'Un's active skills all get higher damage multipliers. Head Splitter now attacks 1 enemy and then all enemies once, with no crit needed, places 50% Decrease ACC for 1 turn and ignores 15% DEF on both hits.

Forward Charge has a 75% chance of Stun and a 75% chance of 60% Decrease DEF. The level 3 upgrade now gives +10% Buff/Debuff chance, so fully booked it is a 100% chance AoE Stun with 60% Decrease DEF on cooldown 3.

Molten Slag (Ascended) ignores Shield, always lands its 30% Decrease SPD, and drops to cooldown 6. His new passive, Feral Wallop, gives him and his allies 10% more AoE damage. It also fires Molten Slag whenever an enemy fills Turn Meter using a skill, once per turn. That should punish Turn Meter boosters in Faction Wars and Grim Forest.

What to do

If you own Brakus or Big 'Un, hold off judging them until the update lands, then test them. If Rhazin was on your fusion list, compare the new fodder list with your vault before spending anything.
