A new Hero's Path Event arrives on Friday, October 9th. It runs for 96 hours, and the headline rewards are 5-Star Perfect Souls for The Tin Woodman and Theimios the Everdrinker.
How you earn points
There are two sources of Hero's Path points:
- Getting Artifacts and Accessories
- Summoning Champions from Shards
Summoning is likely to provide the bulk of the points. The summoning events that will run alongside the Hero's Path have not been announced yet, so check the summon schedule before you commit large numbers of Shards.
The rewards
- Theimios the Everdrinker 5-Star Perfect Soul
- The Tin Woodman 5-Star Perfect Soul
- The Tin Woodman Avatar
- Thematic Avatar Frame
Scarecrow hunters: do the sums
The Hero's Path is tied to the Ingenious Titan Event, and it contains 400 Citadel Points towards it. The Titan event offers 1,750 Citadel Points in total, with 1,500 needed to claim every milestone reward. That leaves room to skip 250 points across the whole event.
The Hero's Path holds more points than that allowance, so you cannot skip all of it if you are after The Scarecrow. You need at least 150 Citadel Points from it.
Is the Tin Woodman Soul worth chasing?
The Tin Woodman gets strong offensive stats from Awakening. He does not need Accuracy, and Resistance has limited value for most builds, but the earlier bonuses suit him well. Extra HP helps offset the damage he takes through his own Passive, DEF directly raises his damage, and Critical Damage adds a further boost.
Blessings are less clear-cut in PvE. Nature's Wrath does not fit, because his kit places no debuffs. Crushing Rend loses value as well, since he already brings plenty of Ignore DEF. Heavencast looks the stronger option: it raises damage based on the number of buffs active on him, with a 7.5% increase at five buffs and 15% at ten. Add the DEF and Critical Damage from Awakening and the personal damage gain is sizeable, particularly if you use him across several boss teams.
And the Theimios Soul?
Theimios gains useful stats from a 5-Star Awakening, and the extra Resistance and Accuracy suit his kit. For solo PvE builds, though, he works with a much lower Awakening level. His self Increase ACC, Accuracy Aura and base stats leave plenty of room when building his gear. The Soul gives more freedom to invest in Resistance and other survival stats, but it is not essential.
The value lies in PvP and Poison-focused builds. Higher Awakening opens stronger Blessing options and gives him more stats for demanding Arena setups.
Which should you prioritise?
If you own both, The Tin Woodman Soul has broader use across PvE content. Theimios becomes the better target if your account is built around his PvP or Poison damage setups. If you mostly solo PvE with Theimios, you can treat his Soul as a bonus.
