Plarium has announced the second batch of Update 11.90 changes. The headline items are a way to undo Empowerment on Legendary Champions, a new Wishlist Boost event, another round of Champion AI work and four smaller quality-of-life changes.

Unempowerment arrives for Legendaries

You can now reverse an Empowerment, but only on Legendary Champions for now. The process separates the Empowered Champion from the Champions that were consumed to make it.

To do it:

  • Open the Guardian Ring.
  • Go to the Empower Champions tab.
  • Select the new Unempower button in the top-left corner.
  • Choose the Empowered Legendary Champion you want to restore.
  • Spend 1 Unempowerment Coin.

Your original Champion loses its Empowerment bonuses but keeps Champion Level and Rank, Ascension, Masteries, and equipped Artifacts and Accessories.

The consumed Champions return to your Collection at Rank 5 and Level 1, with no extra upgrades, no Masteries and no equipped gear. They do not count as newly acquired, so they will not contribute to Events, Tournaments, Quests or Champion Index and Collection progress.

The Coin limit matters

Every Unempowerment costs exactly 1 Coin, whatever the Empowerment level. You can hold a maximum of 1 Coin, and the balance refreshes once per month. Coins cannot be stacked or carried over, and if you are still holding one at the refresh you will not receive another. No other way of earning Coins is planned at launch.

In practice that is one reversal a month, so pick carefully. The best candidates are accounts that spent duplicate Legendaries on Empowerment and now need those copies for Faction Guardian slots or a second build for specialised teams.

Wishlist Boost event

A new Wishlist Boost event gives an x15 chance of summoning Souls from your Wishlist across all Soulstone types. It is open from Level 42 onwards. Note that this raises the chance rather than guaranteeing a Soul, so you still need to spend Soulstones sensibly. It could help if you are chasing higher Awakening levels for Arena, Hydra or Clan Boss champions.

Champion AI Improvements Vol. 4

The fourth wave of AI changes targets 21 individual Champions. The announced areas are:

  • Better skill priorities during Boss Battles.
  • Improved targeting against Hydra Heads.
  • Smarter targeting of Boss minions.
  • More effective skill usage based on enemy buffs and debuffs.
  • Improved decisions based on available skill cooldowns.

Two general improvements apply to all Champions: targeting enemies affected by [Infest] debuffs, and how Champions use skills that spread debuffs. Plarium will publish the full list of the 21 Champion adjustments separately, so hold off judging your own team until then. Hydra teams look likely to benefit most.

Smaller changes

  • Advanced Quests: the Go button now opens the Dungeon Stage selection screen and scrolls to the latest available Stage, instead of opening the pre-battle screen for Stage 15.
  • Teams of the Week: the window will show equipped Relics, Champion Blessings and Champion Empowerment levels.
  • Buffs and Debuffs: the All Buffs & Debuffs tab gains a search field.
  • Instant Upgrade in the Tavern: fully levelled Champions will no longer be shown or automatically selected as food during Instant Rank Ups. A new checkbox lets you include Max Level Champions when you want to.

The Tavern safeguard is the one to be glad of if you rank up in a hurry.
