Halloween brings Vott, Tartarus and Primus Atalact
Three new Champions join Orynyx Mindcrawler in the Halloween lineup: a buff-shredding HP Legendary, an anti-revival Void tank and an Epic Lizardmen defender.

Halloween adds four Champions to the game. Orynyx Mindcrawler, whose mixed Fusion Event begins on 22 October, has already been covered here, so this post looks at the other three: Vott Head-lopper, Tartarus the Oarsman and Primus Atalact.
Vott Head-lopper
Vott is a Legendary Banner Lords Champion with the Magic affinity and the HP role, so his damage scales with HP. His base HP is 24,120. His aura increases Banner Lords ally HP in all battles by 40%.
His A1, Ever-Sharp Ax, attacks all enemies and lowers each target's Resistance and Defense by 5%, stacking up to a maximum of 30%. His A3, Righteous Killing, attacks all enemies three times, and each hit shortens every buff on each target by one turn. If no enemy has a buff left afterwards, Vott gets an Extra Turn.
His passive makes him stronger as the fight goes on. Whenever an enemy dies he triggers his A1 (once per turn) and gains 10% Critical Damage per kill, up to 100%. He also heals 5% of his maximum HP at the start of each turn.
He looks most promising in wave-based PvE and some Arena matchups. The open question is how hard his multipliers hit, and that needs testing before you spend books on him.
Tartarus the Oarsman
Tartarus is a Legendary Argonites Champion with the Void affinity and the Defense role. His damage scales with Defense, and his aura increases Void ally Resistance in Arena battles by 120.
The kit gets more dangerous once anyone has died, on either team. His A1 Stun cannot be resisted at that point. His A2 ignores 25% of the target's Defense, plus Block Damage and Shield buffs, rising to 50% and an extra hit after a death. His A3 ignores 50% of Defense, plus Stone Skin and Unkillable, and ignores 100% of Defense once someone is dead. It can also hit targets behind Veil or Perfect Veil, and a kill gives him an Extra Turn.
His passive, Death Hath No Hold, stops him dying until an enemy kills one of his allies. It also denies one enemy revival: if several enemies are revived at once, one random enemy stays down. Afterwards he gets an Instant Turn and puts an irresistible, unblockable, unremovable Berserk on himself for one turn.
The denial covers one target, not a whole mass revival. Arena is the obvious home for him, with some use in PvE against bosses that revive or stack defensive buffs. How the passive behaves in real battles is the thing to watch.
Primus Atalact
Primus is the Epic Lizardmen Defense Champion in the Orynyx Fusion, with the Void affinity. His A2 has a 75% chance to place Provoke on every enemy and puts Counterattack on himself, and his passive steals a random buff from the target whenever he counterattacks. His A3 places a 60% Increase Defense buff on all allies and then teams up with three random allies to attack one enemy. His A1 can place Perfect Veil on the ally with the lowest Defense.
His aura increases ally Defense in Faction Crypts by 35%. Provoke plus Counterattack suits Faction Wars and Doom Tower waves. If your account is short of defensive support, a spare copy is worth keeping.
What to do
- Fusion hunters: Primus is part of the Orynyx Fusion, so keep him rather than feeding him away.
- Arena players: watch Tartarus once the numbers are tested.
- Banner Lords owners: Vott's aura is a reason to look at him, but wait for damage testing.
